From the backseat of a 2009 Nissan Sentra 2 week old Grayson cried from his carseat. Gina looked through the rearview mirror to make sure she could pull of to the side of the road then she did so. getting out of the driver seat of the car she opened the back door and unbuckled the infant from his carseat.

"Shh baby boy." Gina said in her soothing mother's voice "we will be at aunt Sara's house soon and maybe we can settle in there for a life of just me and you."

Gina felt tears stinging her eyes as she thought about how she had gotten into this situation. she was 26 years old and a single mother of a newborn baby. Daniel had left her for another woman who had 3 children of her own but yet his excuse for leaving Gina was he could not handle being a father.

"Good luck with that Daniel." Gina said as she wiped away the tears from her face "your new bitch wants you as a father to her 3 children so how are you going to handle that situation?"

Gina finished feeding Grayson then placed his back in his carseat before she took off once again towards California where her best friend Sara had been living for the past 2 years with her husband Adam. Sara was expecting them and ready to help her best friend out as much as she could. she had already done so much by letting them come live with her.

Gina's cell phone began to ring and she looked down at the caller ID. she smiled when she saw it was Sara calling her. Gina answered the call on the third ring. "Hello?" she tried to sound happy.

"Don't give me that bullshit happy voice." Sara said as she rolled her eyes "girl i know your hurting, where are you and my godson at?"

"We should be there within the next hour." Gina said laughing "i hope your prepared for what your getting yourself into."

"Girl, it's going to be great having you here." Sara said with excitment "oh, by the way Adam has a friend coming in today as well. he is going through a divorce and needs somewhere to stay til he can find a place of his own."

"The more the merrier right?" Gina asked laughing again "girl you don't know how much i miss you."

"I think i have a good ideia, i mean i was the first you call when Daniel left you alone with the baby." Sara told her "look i gotta go, i will see you soon girl, love ya, miss ya."

Gina placed her phone back in her purse then adjusted her sunglasses. she knew she was doing what was best for her and Grayson. she needed away from Tennessee and that's exactly what she was doing.

Sara opened the door to the two story brick home she and Adam had purchased. Adam had been the runner up in the reality show American Idol so he was successful.

"Girl you look good for just having a baby 2 weeks ago." Sara said hugging her best friend.

"Thanks." Gina said through her tears of happiness and sorrow for missing the man she had fallen in love with, the man she thought she would be spending the rest of her life with.

Sara took the baby from Gina's hands as she let her best friend enter her home. she hated seeing her so upset but she knew how much Gina had cared for her ex boyfriend.

"Adam honey this is my best friend Gina." Sara said as a tall black headed guy came into the foyer wrapping his arm around Sara's waist.

"Nice to finally meet you." Adam said before he hugged Gina which surprised her a little but she laughed it off.

"Grayson is so adorable." Sara said she lifted him from the carseat and hugged the baby close to her.

"He looks just like his daddy." Gina said as she watched on "that is the only thing i am not pissed about Daniel for."

As they stood there talking the doorbell rung again. Adam got the door and hugged the person standing on the other side calling him Kris. Adam stepped aside allowing Kris to come into the house and Gina could feel herself smile. he was 5'7 of sexiness with his brown eyes and brown hair. she shook her head and sighed before she followed Sara into the livingroom. he was going through a divorce and she was going through a bad break up. two very good reasons not to fall for him.
