"I can't believe you're gonna just up and leave me like this." Adam said, kneeling beside her.
"Get a grip, Lambert." Gina smiled up at him sadly. "You knew, this was coming."
"Yeah, but I didn't think it'd be this hard to let you go." Adam admitted.
"You have Brooklyn." Gina stated matter-of-factly. "And Mitchel."
"Yeah, but how am I going to raise two kids all by myself?" Adam asked helplessly.
"Well, let's just pray that they're more like me, than they are you." Gina quipped with a weak smile.
"Yeah," Adam smiled.
"What am I gonna tell them?" Adam asked after a moments pause.
"Tell them the truth." Gina suggested.
"Yeah, I guess that'd be a good start." he said and held her hand. "I'm gonna miss you."
"Same here." Gina said, her eyes tearing up. "But I'll always be with you."
"I know, but it's not the same." Adam said, trying to hold back the tears.
"I know, but always remember that I'll live on in here..." she put her hand on his head. "and here." she put her other hand over his heart.
"I love you." Adam said, letting the tears fall freely.
"I love you, too." Gina whispered with her last breath, and then she was gone.

It had been 4 years since the death of his wife and mother of his children. Adam watched his kids Brooklyn age 8 and Mitchel age 7 play on the playground as he set on a nearby bench. it had been hard raising the kids without Gina but he had somehow managed.
Adam sighed because in a few days he would be leaving the kids to go on tour with contestants from the reality show American Idol. he had placed second in the competition doing the show for his children to give them a better life. the children would be staying with his mom while he set out on tour. he hated to leave them but this was his job now.
"Daddy do you really have to leave?" Brooklyn asked as she ran to her father's side.
"Yes baby i do." Adam said before he kissed the top of her head "i will call you and Mitchel every night though, i promise."
Brooklyn Kissed Adam on the cheek before she went off to join her brother at a nearby slide. Adam watched with a smile, those two kids were his whole world.
Later as they entered the apartment Adam rented in LA the kids ran off towards thier bedroom while Adam checked the messages on the machine. the first message being from his mom, second message came from his best friend Kris, the third message was this..
[i"]Yeah, my name is Sara Considine and i am Gina's cousin. i think we met at the funeral, anyways i am in LA for a few days and you told me at the memorial service if i was ever in LA i could come see the kids. i was wondering if i could stop by tonight and see them. you can reach me on my cell at 555-0286. thanks."[/i]
Adam picked up the phone and dialed Sara's phone number. he set up a time to meet him and the kids for dinner so she could see them and then he went off to take a shower before getting the kids ready to leave for dinner.
